ideas and intentions of the post-internet

I have problem with in the face of post-internet conceptualism is the lack of emotionalism or the high amount of parody-to such an extent humor is banal. I enjoy the emphasis on shape, surface appropriation and emulation, but I am not sure post-internet work has learned to deal with distress or profound sadness; there is only banality. Maybe that practice is a way to not deal with emotion.
